I Feel Pretty - Matinee

I Feel Pretty (IMDb) Renee Bennett: I can eat whatever I want and still look like this. A lot of times we see comedy movies that don't have a point. Most of the time those movies resort to juvenile jokes and slapstick antics. But I Feel Pretty has a point and makes meaningful jokes through out the film. This film was super enjoyable because of these jokes and they really make you think about the world we live in. So much about the film was good but these three areas really hit home for me, Theme, Comedy, and Acting. We will see how these three areas made the film as great as it can be. The theme that I identified with is with the right amount of confidence you can accomplish anything. That seems like a very far fetched idea but people need to know how true it is. This movie helped shed some light on the subject by regularly expressing how Renee wanted to be "beautiful" in the sense of how the world perceives beauty. Yet when a certain something happened and she ...

A Quiet Place - Full Price

A Quiet Place (IMDb) Favorite Quote: LEE: Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh! One of the hardest things to do for horror films is to find real tension. Some films do that by using that moment of silence before the jump scare, but what do you do when the movie is entirely silent? You make that silence the reason you are scared for the characters. This was by far one of the most well crafted horror movies I can think of for several reasons. But for the sake of my blog I will only go into three. The utilization of sound was phenomenal, the theme, and the acting. Every choice they made to make sound a character was brilliant. And the villainous nature of sound intensified the film to another level. It also became a bit of an experiment for the audience in the theater because of the silence of the film. It created a sense of hyper awareness of your presence within the film. I tried to eat my snacks as quietly as I could. The theme that I picked up on, and you might have picked up on something ...

Ready Player One - Full Price!

Ready Player One - IMDb Ready Player One was amazing on a lot of levels. While it was adapted from the book by Earnest Cline, it was molded into its own animal and that was absolutely a good thing. The film found its own footing and carved its own path of nostalgic glory. I liked that quote because in a lot of ways it showed me how ridiculous the human race is. We can find meaning in so many different things and not everyone will have the same perspective. That is truly a beautiful fact about life. Knowing that everyone has their own view of the world around them is not a bad thing at all, but subjecting everyone to one way of thinking is. The three things I loved most about Ready Player One, was that it was: nostalgic, relevant, and marvelous. Being Nostalgic was easy to accomplish because all they had to do was throw in as much of the fun things we all did as kids in the the movie as possible. Yet the way they did it wasn't as in your face as I was expecting. We saw man...
